Review Time! Bite Beauty Discovery Set
I am so excited to share this review with you my beautiful BFFs. Recently I won an Influenster Instagram photo contest in which the main goal was to showcase the new Bite Beauty Lip Pencil. Here is my winning photo. (Hope it doesn't sound like I'm bragging, but I am really proud to have won -- hard work paying off)
My prize (The Bite Beauty Discovery Set) recently came in the mail and I have to share it with you, because it's gorgeous. Now BFF you know first hand that I would not even mention these items if they were of poor quality. I am a hardcore believer in honest reviews so everything I write in this review is truthful. (Yes, if these items suck -- to put it bluntly -- you will read that here too). Now let me show you my prize and tell you what I think of each item. (Keep in mind, I've only used the items for 5 days, so this is my opinion so far....)
Deluxe Agave Lip Mask 0.18 oz
It's like the makeup gods were listening because I've been wanting to purchase a lip mask for the longest time. You can imagine how eager I was to try this. Although you can wear this all-natural mask during daytime, I use it at night time. Before bedtime, I always put on lip balm, but now I've replace that with this mask. You can just use less than half a pea size to cover your lips. A little goes a long way. I like that it leaves a nice sheen on your lips and makes them look real 'kissable'. Aside from making your lips look really nice, the lip mask also moisturizes and nourishes lips. The team at Bite Beauty were right to just put the mini 0.18 oz size in this set, because once you try it, you get hooked and will be urged to buy the full size when you run out. This lip mask contains organic agave nectar, vanilla CO2 extract, jojoba oil and antioxidant trans-resveratrol.
Deluxe Line & Define Primer 0.03 oz
Lately, I've been wearing a lot of matte lippies that after a while feel really dry on my lips. (Maybe I'm just using the wrong brands, but so far I haven' t been able to find one that I really love). I often find myself applying lip balm over the matte lipstick only to find that it changes the color and consistency. I applied the lip primer before applying lip stick and found that it creates a smooth, even base to receive the lip color. Paired with the agave lip mask, this is a killer duo to combat flaky lips and dryness. The primer has a light mint scent and is said to stop bleeding of lipstick into the fine lines around the mouth, plump and nourish lips and increase staying power of the lip color. It contains lauroyl lysine, silica, resveratrol, and argan and jojoba oil. Just like my facial primer, I will now be using this to primer to prep my pout.
Amuse Bouche Lipstick 0.15 oz
The lipstick in the Discovery Set was in the color 'Beetroot'. I'm wearing it in the photo. Whenever I wear a red shade of lipstick I worry about it feathering. I truly believe that the primer mentioned above stopped this lippie from doing that. This Bite lipstick line is handcrafted and I remember thinking that I was impressed that it stayed put throughout an entire video shoot for my YouTube channel. I didn't even have to reapply the lippie. The lipstick has a scent that reminds me of citrus or lemons. I found out later that fresh pressed fruit is responsible for this. It's a creamy lipstick that doesn't dry out your lips. Needless to say, I was quite impressed. This lipstick line is made with triple milled pigments and 12 edible oils. Yum!
Matte Creme Lip Crayon 0.5 oz.
I am doing a little happy dance each time I think about this lip crayon. Why? Well, the color I received was 'Leche', which is a color that I would never even try in the store because it's so light and natural looking. This is exactly why I fell in love with this color. It's the perfect nude color for my skin tone. I'm wearing it in the photo. I love that it comes in a pencil shape, because these are so easy to apply. You don't even need a lip brush. It says that it's a matte lippie, but I found that it's not that matte. I think that's the creme part that comes into play. I found out that this water resistant, long-wearing lip crayon contains orange peel wax which locks in moisture and and antioxidant properties of resveratrol. I will absolutely and happily check out the other shades also.
Conclusion
Well BFFs, all I can say is try these Bite Beauty lip products yourself so you can see why I'm raving about them. I am very picky about makeup and part of my makeup drawer is full of items just gathering dust because they didn't live up to my expectations. These all natural, organic products will definitely not be part of that pile. I had never used Bite Beauty lip products before Influenster sent me the lip pencils. (Warm hugs to my Influenster fam.)
