Fun with Fashion (March - May)

fashion styles March through May

Hi BFFs, it's time for my regular regular 'Fun with Fashion' section that covers some of my favorite fashions from my Instagram account @kimberlycaines.

The fun thing of being on social media is collaborating with different brands. I come across brands that I've never heard of before and end up falling in love with their merchandise. Some of the fashions I've worn were provided by some of these brands while other ensembles were created by myself. I hope some of my looks inspire you and give you some ideas on how to style yourself.

Now that Spring is here and the weather in California is starting to gradually move from warm to scorching hot, you will see more and more skin appearing. One of the cutest tops I've come across was the off-the-shoulder top that I received in my Charming Charlie ambassador box for the month of April.

BFFs, the off-the-shoulder trend will continue all through summer, so make sure you stock up on at least one cute OTSk top. I could literally live in this top. The pink-salmon color is beautiful and the fabric is light an flowey. I prefer to pair my OTS top with distressed jeans to give the whole look a casual feel. You can find many more similar tops on charmingcharlie.com. Their prices are very budget-friendly, so go check them out!

My next ensemble was my attempt to appear dressed up on a budget. This dress is from Papaya Clothing and if I remember correctly, it was about $20. Yes, BFFs, your girl loves a good sale.

Sweater dress

A sweater dress is ideal for when the weather cools down a little at night time. If you buy a sweater dress, the only advice I would give, is to actually try it on. I just bought this dress off the rack without trying it on. I found the wrinkles in the dress somewhat irritating as they kept appearing and I felt like the dress was a size too big. Also, for a more casual look, you can easily pair the dress with a pair of sandals or sneakers.

When Deux Reines approached me to collaborate, I checked out their website and didn't have to think twice. Their gorgeous figure-hugging dresses are ideal for a night out on the town. I picked the Kassiopeia Bandage dress, which is gorgeous and had sexy peek-a-boo cut outs. I'm not a prude when it comes to clothes (I am from Europe, don't forget...). I don't care if clothes are tight or a little revealing. It's all about the way you carry yourself while wearing the clothes. No matter how sexy, you can always be classy.

Deux Reines has recently added new arrivals to their website. They are gorgeous and I would love to collaborate with them again (hint, hint). Make sure to check them out when you get a second.

Although I'm a real girlie girl and love dressing up for a night out, I also love dressing down for a casual movie night. This little number from Papaya Clothing is perfect for that. I bought this little number while it was on sale at the mall and I don't believe I paid more than $20 for it. Yes, BFFs, it doesn't have to cost a lot of money to look cute. You just have to know what to buy and how to combine it with pieces that you already own.

This sporty dress is almost like a long t-shirt, so I'm just going to call it my long t-shirt dress. It's made from a stretchy material and I wouldn't recommend wearing it after having a big meal. It's not forgiving peeps! I paired it with my Adidas Superstars, which are btw one of the Spring/Summer must-haves. The come in all color combos and are mighty comfy.

Of course you cannot be completely dressed without jewelry. Following are some shots of some must-have pieces that I've acquired through my collaborations. I love the necklaces and the earrings. It only takes one or two pieces of jewelry to finish your look. Again, it doesn't always have to cost a fortune to look stylish and cute.

This choker necklace is from Ettika.com and I am in love with it. Ettika has jewelry that is very current and modern and if you like the piece I'm wearing, you will love their other pieces. All their jewelry is handmade and when wearing their jewelry, you just know that your style is 100% 'In' and 'trendy'. You cannot go wrong with their pieces. I'm a big fan as you can tell by the way I'm talking about them ;)

Ettika

Of course this page wouldn't be complete without my jewelry from Charming Charlie. I am so in love with that store, it's not even funny. The earrings and bracelet in the pink photo below were in their May ambassador box and I love them so much. Make sure to catch my first-impression unboxing video so you can see my reactions when I first saw them and the other pieces that I got.

Charming Charlie

The earrings, bracelet and necklace below are also from Charming Charlie and came in their April ambassador box.

Well my loves, that was my fashion summary. Of course I show many more different items on my Instagram, so consider this just the tip of the iceberg. Let me know which look you like the best in the comments below. Your opinion means so much. Let's have some 'Fun with Fashion'. xoxoxo
