COVERGIRL FLOURISH BY LASH BLAST MASCARA & AMPLIFY PRIMER REVIEW!

Hi BFFs. Hope your makeup is fab today! I decided to write a blog on the COVERGIRL Flourish by Lash Blast Mascara and Amplify Primer after receiving their gorgeous PR Box with both items in it. I'm a sucker for pretty packaging and this one sure didn't disappoint.

You might know from watching my YouTube videos that one of my favorite drugstore masacaras is the Lash Blast volume mascara from COVERGIRL (the one in the orange tube). You might have also seen on my Instagram Stories when I went to the COVERGIRL event in Los Angeles. The gift bag I received there had several orange Lash Blast tubes in it so my day was all good. The Lash Blast Volume mascara works like a charm every time and never lets me down, so you can imagine how excited I was to try this new Lash Blast mascara.

LASH BLAST AMPLIFY PRIMER

This primer is of a creamy consistency and only available in a neutral white color. It preps your lashes for the mascara. After applying it, I noticed that my lashes instantly got longer. It also leaves a white coat on your lashes that your mascara will cover. For those of you new to lash primer... this is normal. You should optimally coat each lash with the primer and can even apply it to your bottom lashes if you're also applying mascara to those. The primer has a super light non-offensive chemical-like scent to it and I found that the thick brush really helped apply the products to all my lashes. Good thing about this primer.... It can really be used with any other mascara and it will keep you within your budget since it's under $10. (I've seen it for $6.99 at Target).

FLOURISH BY LASH BLAST MASCARA

This mascara makes me want to take a trip to the tropics!!!! The ingredients alone are so exotic. They include coconut, avocado and papaya oils. With those oils in it, this mascara is said to condition your lashes while building definition and volume. The mascara has a scent to it that smells almost kind of 'sweet' (but it might just be the ingredients making me think that). Nothing out of the ordinary with the smell though. Unlike the Amplifying Primer, this mascara comes with a long, skinny straight brush with hard bristles. I found the bristles ideal for separating the lashes. After applying the mascara, I noticed that it does increase the lash volume. It didn't really make my lashes longer, which is why using the primer with it, is ideal, since that did lengthen my lashes. Using both together will give you both length and volume where as using just the mascara will give you just volume. It;s up to you to decide whether you lash volume or length, or both... For me, both will do just fine, since I love big fabulous lashes. Again, budget friendly... This mascara is also under $10 (It goes for $6.99 at Target)

CONCLUSION

I'm not going to lie, I use drugstore makeup and high-end makeup together all the time. Some of you have noticed this in my YouTube videos. There is no rule when it comes to makeup saying you can only use one. I found a lot of drug store makeup that easily stands up to high-end makeup and is sometimes even better. Ooooh this screams for a drugstore/high-end makeup review...hmmmm.
This mascara/primer combo works very well and I would give it a 8 out of 10 only because I'm still hooked on my COVERGIRL Lash Blast Volume Mascara. I go through those orange tubes like nothing else! Results are different for everyone though, so try one of these COVERGIRL mascaras yourself to see how you like it. If you already have, feel free to sound off below.
