Covergirl Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation Review

Hi BFFs!! Hope you are safe and smiling during this stressful time. I was planning on doing a blog about the Corona Virus and things you can do to protect yourself, but decided not to. I am not a doctor and the moment you turn on the TV it's constantly thrown at you, so I decided to keep it light and fun on the blog and offer a quick little escape. Let's talk about something I do know a lot about.... Makeup! Mainly the Skin Milk foundation from Covergirl's Clean Fresh Collection!

About Covergirl's Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation

Have you tried the new Skin Milk Foundation from Covergirl? It's part of their Clean Fresh Collection and comes in 14 shades ranging from Fair to Dark. It has a dewy finish, which is really trendy now and it will cost you $9.99 to become the owner of one of these babies. As you might know, all of Covergirl's products are cruelty free and this foundation is vegan and doesn't contain formaldehyde, phthalates, parabens, sulfates and talc. You know all those chemicals that we can't even pronounce. It contains coconut milk and aloe, which have a moisturizing and soothing effect on skin.

What I Think of the Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation

In the photo above I'm wearing the shade Medium/Tan #570. I'm also wearing their Tinted Lip Oil in Swipe Ripe, the Cream Blush in Butterflies and the Cooling Glow Stick in Pink Thrill, which are also part of the Clean Fresh Collection.

I applied the foundation with a moist blending sponge and instantly noticed that it has quite a sheer coverage. If you are looking for a full coverage foundation, this is not the one for you. You can however layer and build up the foundation to get some more coverage, but overall, it still has a light finish. I'd say the coverage is just a bit more than a tinted moisturizer. It does have a dewy finish, but I found that once you apply powder over the foundation, the dewiness disappears a little, which is not unusual. It still leaves your skin looking healthy and smooth.

If you love a natural look, or a no-make-up makeup look, then this foundation is absolutely a must!. It almost looks like you're not wearing any foundation at all and not because the foundation oxidizes, because it doesn't. It's just the way the foundation settles. The only way you can tell you are wearing foundation is because it takes away uneven skin areas and other little flaws and leaves behind a healthy dewy glow. I should also say that the natural finish is super flattering. I find that people look much younger without caked makeup on, and this foundation, which makes your skin appear natural, absolutely helps prove that.

I do think many will find 14 shades not enough to choose from, although I had no problem finding a shade that matches my skin tone. Actually, there were several shades that matched my skin, that I could've used. I could've also used the tan/rich foundation because that shade matched my skin tone. Turns out the Skin Milk foundation is made of a shade-adaptable formula that matched 99% of skin tones. So you should not have a problem matching one to yours. Also, keep in mind, you can always try to blend two shades to help make your ideal shade. Covergirl is known to cover all basis when it comes to foundation shades. Just look at the 40+ shades in their True Blend Collection. Gotta love that!

Conclusion

I would recommend this foundation for everyday wear, for days when you're in a rush and just want some light, natural coverage and not too much fuss. For me, the coverage I prefer really depends on the look that I'm trying to achieve. For YouTube and Instagram, I tend to wear thick makeup a lot and unless I'm going for a natural look, this foundation wouldn't work. However, in every day life, I don't wear thick makeup like that, and I can absolutely see Covergirl's Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation as part of my morning routing. I give this foundation an 8 out of 10 -- because I really love how they focus on letting natural beauty come through.
